New Era's Junior Secondary program combines academic excellence with Islamic education. Girls engage in project-based science, pre-technical studies, agriculture, business studies, and leadership practice while maintaining strong grounding in core subjects and Islamiyat values.
Our JSS curriculum focuses on practical skills, critical thinking, and preparation for senior secondary pathways in STEM and Social Sciences. Safe boarding environment, qualified teachers, and modern labs ensure every girl thrives academically and spiritually.
Junior Secondary covers: English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Social Studies, Pre-Technical Studies, Creative Arts & Sports, Agriculture, Business Studies, Computer Studies, and I.R.E. Islamic studies including Tarbiya Islamia, Quran, Seerah, and Arabic Language are integrated throughout.
Teachers use formative assessments, projects, and portfolios to track each girl's competency development. At the end of Grade 6, learners sit for a national assessment that informs Junior Secondary School placement. Regular parent-teacher meetings and report cards ensure transparent communication about academic progress, behavior, and areas for growth.
Our Senior Secondary program follows the 8-4-4 system, preparing girls for KCSE with strong sciences, humanities, business studies, and career guidance. We offer focused streams, mock exams, revision clinics, and university application support.
Students study: English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics (or alternatives), Geography, History & Government, Arabic, Business Studies, Computer Studies, and I.R.E. Daily Tahfeedh, Madrasa sessions, and Islamic mentorship are integrated campus-wide.
Form 4 students benefit from intensive KCSE preparation: past-paper practice, subject-specific revision camps, mock exams (Terms 1–3), and mentorship from alumni who excelled in national exams. Career guidance and university application workshops prepare girls for life after New Era.
Islamic education is at the heart of New Era. Daily Qur'an recitation, Tahfeedh (memorization), Seerah, Fiqh, and Arabic Language are led by Islamiyat mentors and Imam support. Saturday Madrasa/Islamiyat sessions reinforce fluency and understanding.
Girls attend five daily prayers (Subh, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) on campus, with halaqas (study circles) for deeper learning. Character development, adab (Islamic etiquette), and values integration across all subjects ensure holistic Muslim identity.
Saturday Madrasa and Islamiyat sessions provide extended time for Qur'an review, Arabic fluency, and Islamic studies reinforcement. Imam/Islamiyat mentors offer spiritual guidance, counseling, and support for girls navigating adolescence with Islamic values.
New Era invests in modern science and computer labs to build confident problem solvers. Our smartboard-enabled classrooms, all-in-one computers, robotics kits, and hands-on practicals ensure every girl masters STEM concepts through experiential learning.
Science practicals run weekly for Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Computer Studies covers programming basics, digital literacy, web design, and data analysis. Robotics and STEM clubs offer project-based challenges, competitions, and innovation showcases.
Beyond academics, New Era offers clubs and activities that develop leadership, creativity, and teamwork. Options include Debating, Journalism, Science Club, Girl Guides, Wildlife Club, Robotics, Drama, and Music.
Sports include volleyball, netball, table tennis, badminton, and athletics. Weekend programs feature guided study sessions, talent showcases, and enrichment aligned with Islamic values. Annual highlights: Inter-House competitions, Science Fair, Cultural Day, and Sports Day.
Every girl has access to guidance and counseling. Imam/Islamiyat mentors provide spiritual mentorship; professional counselors support academic stress, peer relationships, and personal challenges. Parents are informed and involved in significant concerns.
Career guidance begins in Junior Secondary, helping girls explore STEM, Social Sciences, Business, Arts, and ICT. Form 4 students receive university application support, scholarship information, and mock interview practice.
Structured daily program: waking 4:20am, Tahfeedh/preps, five daily prayers, classes 8am–4pm, co-curriculars, supper 6pm, night preps 7–9:30pm, lights off 10:30pm. Saturday Madrasa/Islamiyat sessions and Sunday enrichment complete the weekly rhythm.
